jump around!

Months ago, I decided that this was my favorite song. I think it began one night at The Sportsman when we played a couple songs on the jukebox...House of Pain came on and we jumped...and jumped...and didn't stop until the song was over. That’s a big reason I love it – I can just jump and pretend I’m dancing. Perfect for a white girl from the Midwest.

Roommate made sure it played as I hit 30, texts come my way when it’s on the radio and if I play softball or kickball this year, it’ll be my walk-up-to-the-plate song…

The only problem I’m running in to now is that any time I hear it, I have to jump around…literally. It’s hard to run when my ipod plays it…it’s hard to drive…shower…put my make-up on…

resumes

please don't ever send out a resume with a typo. it's that detail thing - managers want everyone to be able to deal with details. and so does the recruiter...i try really hard to see past a typo, but it's a pretty huge ding to start out with.

it's bioanalytical, not bioanaltyical.

and that's my advice for the day.

appointments

i've found it to be a pain to make appointments - hair, doctor, eye dude, etc. it's just not easy to listen to the operator voice long enough to know when to push 1, 2 or 3...or to coordinate schedules...or talk to strangers. so i've discovered as many ways as possible to make appointments on the internet. it's awesome.

i bet this online appointment thing is a Bay Area/Silicon Valley bonus. i'll take it!

the 10k

this morning i decided that the 10k is about the perfect race. 6+ miles is a challenge, but do-able...it's double digits...and there are lots of them. i ran the Marine Discovery 10k this morning in Santa Cruz and we ran about 4 of the 6 miles along the coast, which is my favorite place to run. to top it off, we saw a whale at the end of the run. what a life i live...

i'm now more confident that i'll be able to run the half-marathon in june. phew.

harold & kumar are back

and for what you should expect from them, it was pretty great. laughs, nastiness, one-liners...and then true love. quality cinema.

this lady didn't think so...said they tried too hard this time. understandable, as they had a lot to live up to.

go see it, i say. just have your expectations set.
