blogging vacation

i have vacation brain two days early, so i'm just gonna vacation from blogging. it just seems like something i can immediately vacation from. i mean, i gotta show up at work for another day...can't get out of that.

minnesota lakes, here i come!

(i don't have much time in minneapolis, unfortunately...i fly to duluth on friday, run Grandma's Half Marathon saturday morning, head to minneapolis for church and the Twins game on sunday, back to ely sunday night...until the next sunday when i fly out of duluth. if i can somehow see you, awesome...if not, i'll be back labor day weekend)

easy conversation

part of my job is checking references...and i have discovered how much easier it is to talk to someone who's having a good day. i just got off the phone with a jolly ol' guy who had nothing but great things to say about his former colleague. i got to smile and laugh through the whole conversation...with this person i'll probably never meet...about this person i recently interviewed. love it.

i'm gonna try to always be a happy person on the phone. it's more fun.

twisted monday thought

wouldn't it be funny if you came in to work one day and the bathrooms had been switched? overnight, the men's had become women's and vice versa. the door you're used to going in to is no longer for you...
